Hands wrinkled with the passage of time,
Hair whitened with the burdens of life,
Limbs weakened with the endeavors of work,
Blood thickened with the betrayal of love.
An eternity passed by,
Yet she didn’t seem to notice.
People came and went,
Yet she remained oblivious and unaffected,
Just waiting for her time to come.
No hope for a better tomorrow,
No joy at a rising sun,
No words for a tragic death,
No love for an innocent child,
Just praying for her time to come.
